Think Globally, Adopt Locally
zuni and i were taking a break from work, walking along main street when we were met by two ambassadors of animal rescue good will, katie and her wee friend puck, who found his forever home with katie and her husband after surviving a very difficult life for 7 years. they are so lucky to have each other. besides putting zuni at ease by casually talking, allowing zuni to relax, katie let me know about the local rescue group companions in waiting which she passionately supports, and as it turns out dr. laurie at half moon bay veterenary hospital also assists in bringing the rescued animals back to health and prepare them for their new lives. there is a wonderful poem on the companions website which describes how a small group of people can take in, encircle and protect our friends in need for the rest of their lives. they are the best dogs (and cats) ever, too.
